Coca-Cola® is no doubt one of the most popular beverages in the world.

How ironic that a product originally intended for medicine can actually make you sick.

1. Aspartame (phenylalanine)
This substance is used processed drinks such as Diet Coke®.
Aspartame increases the sweetness of a drink 200 times more than sugar and this is dangerous to the health.
It damages neurons and causes memory loss, brain tumors, and cancer. It’s a billion dollar industry with bad influence.
2. Acesulfame-K (acesulfame potassium) or Ace-K
Another Coca-Cola Zero® sweetener is Ace-k. It’s 150 times sweeter than sugar with risks to cause cancer.
It’s similar to saccharin which increases the shelf life of the drink.
3. Neotame (dimethylbutyl)
This is another sweetener with 7,000 times more sugar. It’s quite new in the market and gradually replacing the high-fructose corn syrup used by Coca-Cola.
The chemical can cause behavioral disorders and emotional imbalance.
This substance was derived from petroleum molecule and it’s 300 times sweeter than sugar which is not good for the children and seems carcinogenic.
5. Cyclamate or sodium cyclamate
This FDA banned substance has been linked to Coke Zero and Coca-Cola Light.
It’s risky to male reproductive health due to infertility issues and testicles problem. It can increase the risk of cancer.
6. Sucralose (E955)
This substance used in Diet Coke is 600 times sweeter than sugar and studies have shown that, it damage organs and cause intestine problems.
This substance also used in making Coca-Cola is lightly sweet but it causes food allergies to people.
This substance is table sugar and it has over 40 grams content in 1 can which is equal of 10 teaspoons.
With high consumption, it causes diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and mood swings.
9. High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS 55)
Perhaps the most common sweetener used in all Coca-Cola brands across the world because it’s cheap and increases the shelf life of the beverage.
It is causes weight gain and obesity because it helps with storage of fat.
This sweeter substance used in Coca-Cola is believed not to have been approved by FDA and it’s sweeter than sugar 2000 times with high calories.
Not all these dangerous substances found in Coca-Cola® are in existence as stoppage of the use might have been effective.
Nevertheless, Coca-Cola® is not appropriate for someone who is diabetic, working to lose weight because of enormous sugar and if you’re like to eating healthy.
